Not realizing how close we were to the anniversary of Marian's death, I was thinking about her a few days ago. I was partially responsible for hiring Marian when we had an opening at Southern Home for Children. I had been impressed with her professionalism and kindness when I called her former employer, the AMY School so I highly recommended her for our position,knowing that she would represent our organization positively to the public and families as well. Marian was always supportive of me personally as I dealt with a difficult employment situation and she kept in touch with regular birthday wishes for over 20 years after I left Southern Home. The world has lost a gem but she is still with us in our hearts.
