I have been fortunate to know George Piccoli for over 30 years when he was the Chief Examiner of the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance and I was with the NAIC. I can describe George in one word, gentleman. He was truly a gentleman and success never changed him, even a little. Rest in peace, George. You are loved, treasured and respected by all.
The light which is George Piccoli can never be extinguished or dimmed. We will never forget your leadership and friendship through the years. Your character, integrity, and devotion to friends, coworkers and family are unparalleled. We love and miss you George. We will carry your memory with us eternally.
Love Gail, Marie, and Terry
Barbara,
It is with much heartache that I write this and my simple words here can in no way express my deepest thoughts and profound sadness knowing that George has passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior. George in every way exemplified for so many of us the love and dignity, grace, humility, service, loyalty, and the patience of Job himself of what a good man, a good person, should be in this life. It is this life of honor and service, his love of you, his love of family and friends that George leaves behind as fond and wonderful memories for the rest of us. George leaves behind touchstones to us all on how a life well lived, should be lived. For me, it is his love of you, his family and the love he quietly resonated for so many others that touches me profoundly.
In hearing of George's passing this past weekend my mind has been swirling with thoughts of him, my heartfelt sadnes and prayers for you and the kids, your many grandchildren, my own simple (and silly) memories of small moments over these 22 years, the small stories of this tenatious life and service to community that I became aware of as the years came and went that somehow through it all, it is his smile, his sense of humor, his joy of life's small moments, and his profound wisdom and grace that are foremost in my memories. For those of us who believe, in part, that God is love and the fabric and field of love that surrounds and imbues us all, George is not and will not be forgotten. Georges memory lives within us, and more profoundly the love that George leaves behind, adds to Gods grace and the love that is now a part of God.
You and the kids and your wonderful family are and will remain in my thoughts and prayers. I am truly so very sorry for the loss of your sweet husband and best friend.
George is an icon of leadership, friendship, wisdom and love who we are all lucky to have known. A true family man, who worked hard, lived with honor, dignity and the well earned respect of his family, friends and business associates. My most sincere condolences to Barbara and the entire Piccoli Family.
This candle is permanently lit as George has had a permanent impact on so many of our lives. He was a boss to many of us, but the respect we all have for him isn't tied to that fact. The respect comes from the man he was and how he conducted himself and how he treated others. You could not know George all that well, but he would still make you feel like family. He was a good man.
